Abstract

Serat Wedhatama is a javanese literary work in the form of tembang macapat which consist of 72 stanza. as for the details each of stanza are pupuh Pangkur (14 stanza), pupuh Sinom (18 Stanza), pupuh Pocung (15 stanza), and pupuh Gambuh (25 stanza). This serat Wedhatama is full of noble value that need to be revealed again. The aim of this study is to uncover and analyze the content of moral education in the serat Wedhatama. Academically, this study is useful to construct moral educational content in the serat Wedhatama. Therefore, it can enrich the treasure of islamic education and javanese language. This study included into the library research category (library research), and using the qualitative review approach. The method of this study used to explore information sources (data) in the form of literary texts. The collecting data techniques are documentation, then its validity tested by triangluation tachniques, in this case is the source triangulation. The result of this study shows of the content moral education in the serat Wedhatama in detail by procedural and the aim of moral education. Then analysis based on the scope and accompanied by the sources of Al-Quran and Hadist. As for the information are (1) Morality to yourself, including control lust (Mingkar-mingkuring angkara), active in learning science (Ngelmu iku kalakone kanthi laku), the obligation to study (Puruitaa kang patut), not selfish (Nggugu karsaning prinyangga), don’t rely on the glory of parents (Palayune ngandalken yayah wibi), be patient and be careful (Tata titi ngati-ati, atetep telaten atul), be humble (Susila anor raga), and not excessive in the religion (Rehne sira ta jawi, sathithilk bae wus cukup), (2) Morality to the others, including to give happiness to others (Amemangun karyenak tyasing sasama), suffers in to face the fool person (Si wasis waskitha ngalah), be forgiving (Semune ngaksama, sasamane bangsa sisip), and have high awareness to one another (Yen tan mikani rasa, yekti sepi sepa lir asepah samun), (3) Morality to Allah SWT, including Sembah Raga, that is worship to god by using limbs, Sembah Kalbu is religious charity that use the heart, Sembah Jiwa is worship to Hyang Suksma by suppresing the role of the soul, and Sembah Rasa is worship to god by the inner core of the spirit (Telenging kalbu).
