Abstract

This study explores students’ experiences in learning English pronunciation through music on Spotify. Pronunciation is a crucial aspect of language learning, yet many students find it difficult due to limited exposure to authentic spoken English and lack of engaging learning methods. This research investigates how the use of songs on Spotify influences students’ pronunciation skills, motivation, and learning engagement. A qualitative approach was employed, involving senior high school students as participants. Data were collected through interview and questionnaires to gain insights into students’ perceptions and experiences. The findings reveal that learning pronunciation through music on Spotify helps students improve their pronunciation accuracy, intonation, and stress patterns. Additionally, students reported increased motivation and enjoyment due to the familiarity and accessibility of songs. However, some challenges were also identified, such as difficulties in understanding fast lyrics and distinguishing unclear pronunciation in certain songs. Overall, the study concludes that Spotify can be an effective and engaging tool for supporting pronunciation learning when combined with appropriate guidance from teachers. The findings suggest that integrating music-based learning into language instruction can enhance students’ pronunciation skills and create a more enjoyable learning environment
