Abstract

Reading is a very important component of linguistic ability in the learning process. According to the results of a preliminary survey conducted on the 14th at Senior High School in Pemalang, there were difficulties in learning Indonesian, and it was found that grade 10 students still had poor reading comprehension skills. Students do not have the opportunity to identify themes, formulate questions, or draw conclusions from readings in learning activities. In addition, students consider the media less attractive. There are several benefits to reading comprehension, including developing higher academic self-confidence, improving writing skills, improving overall reading ability, developing critical thinking and analytical skills, encouraging stimulation and mental growth, improving problem-solving skills, increasing empathy and comprehension, increasing power memory and memory, improve concentration and focus. The findings of this study indicate that researchers use the Wattpad application correctly and carefully. With the help of this media, he can improve the teaching-learning process as well as encourage and motivate students to read English. He uses it to teach English reading comprehension. Wattpad has a lot to offer and provide, including reading material for students in a variety of genres. The findings of this study imply that Wattpad can help students feel comfortable and confident when sharing their work as a method of teaching reading comprehension. The findings also revealed that there was a difference between students' pre-test and post-test scores. Even if some students have difficulty using Wattpad, other students can guide them and improve their grades. The survey results show that students especially like learning to read while using technology.
